Deco. It is a community of members that celebrate the unique aesthetic of the Interwar Period including fine and decorative arts, architecture and fashion that defined the elegant Art Deco and Streamline Moderne era.
Barbara Capitman encouraged a group of Chicago Architecture Foundation
members to form the group after a week devoted to Deco in Chicago.
Lynn Abbie was the first president and served for 10 years. Chuck
Kaplan was our second president and retired in November, 2000. Bennett
Johnson was our third president and retired in 2007. Joe Loundy is
our current president.
THE CHICAGO ART DECO SOCIETY (CADS) IS A NOT-FOR-PROFIT TAX EXEMPT ORGANIZATION
